ABOUT THE ARTIST Kos-mos
She is a Tokyo-based art pop singer-songwriter characterized by her transparent voice and a deep, dub-infused hybrid of electronica and dance rock.
She creates a world that is both danceable and deeply immersive, blending deep, atmospheric soundscapes with the emotional depth and melodic sensibility of Japanese music.
Inspired by Björk and Aphex Twin’s experimental spirit, as well as the melancholic vocals of Beth Gibbons, she pursues a new form of pop music that transcends borders through her own track production.
Kos-mos made her debut with the EP ‘Hello, Halo!’ in 2025.
In April 2026, she released her first vinyl record for Record Store Day, followed by her first full-length album, ‘BLUE PLUTO’, in August of the same year.
The origin of “Kos-mos”
The name Kos-mos is derived from the word ‘cosmos’ and her initial ‘K’, and the hyphen (-) is an homage to classic computer systems such as MS-DOS.
It reflects her interest in the structures, technologies and ecosystems that shape the world and human experience.
At the same time, she believes that no matter how sophisticated they may be, people continue to change and sometimes become something they could never have imagined.
Kos-mos focuses on people who keep exploring their own possibilities beyond inherited roles and beliefs.
She creates music in the hope that those challenges and changes will encourage others to explore their own possibilities.
